Statsnytt is a mobile news reader app that displays public news content published by Swedish government agencies. This document outlines the privacy practices and legal disclaimers associated with the app.
Statsnytt does not collect, store, or share any personal information.
There is no tracking, analytics, advertising, or background data processing of any kind within the app.
All features and preferences are processed entirely on the user’s device.
All news content is fetched from publicly available sections of official Swedish government websites.
The app does not scrape content behind login walls, bypass technical restrictions, or modify original content in any way.
Statsnytt may send local notifications to inform users when new articles are available.
Notification use is optional and can be enabled or disabled at any time in the app’s Settings or in iOS Settings.
No external servers or third-party notification services are used — all notifications are scheduled and handled locally on the device.
Statsnytt includes an optional voice search feature that allows users to perform searches using speech input.
Microphone access is requested only when the user activates voice search for the first time.
No audio data is stored, transmitted, or analyzed externally; all processing occurs on-device and is discarded immediately after use.
Statsnytt saves user-selected preferences such as theme mode, font size, article sort order, and bookmarked articles using Apple’s UserDefaults system.
This information remains on the device and is never shared outside the app.
Statsnytt uses the open-source Swift library SwiftSoup to parse HTML content from public webpages.
This library runs entirely on-device and does not send any data to external servers.
Statsnytt is designed to be fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
As no personal data is collected or processed, no consent or data handling is required.
Statsnytt is an independent app and is not affiliated with any Swedish government agency.
All logos, content, and news articles remain the property of their respective publishers.
The app functions as a reader interface only and does not claim ownership or editorial responsibility for the external content it displays.
